SPS Commerce is hiring an Accountant to join our Finance team. In this role, you'll be responsible for general accounting tasks such as month-end close entries and bank reconciliations, and will also have the opportunity to work on special projects.

Day to Day
The Accountant is responsible for general accounting tasks and general ledger account reconciliations. They assist with travel and expense reporting inquiries from vendors and employees. They ensure that payment of vendor invoices and cash applications are processed timely and accurately.
Reconcile bank accounts on a monthly (and potentially more frequent) basis; communicate with various accounting and finance personnel to resolve open items and minimize outstanding items
Perform manual journal entries and prepare supporting documentation on a timely basis
Reconcile, maintain, and analyze certain general ledger accounts on a monthly basis including: prepaid assets, fixed assets, accrued expenses, deferred costs, and others as necessary
Coordinate general accounting functions on a monthly and quarterly basis to ensure financial statements are accurate and timely
Prepare various financial statement schedules used in monthly and quarterly reporting
Work with internal & external auditors to provide support and analysis
Cross-train on roles and responsibilities with other accountants in the group in order to serve as backup for certain functions
Other duties as assigned by management
Required Skills
Bachelor’s degree in finance/accounting or equivalent work experience
2+ years related accounting experience
Experience with month-end close processes and solid knowledge of account reconciliations
Working knowledge of U.S. Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP)
Demonstrated experience with Excel (Vlookup, pivot tables), PowerPoint, and Outlook
Ability to communicate effectively with varying levels of people, internally and externally
Ability to continuously adapt to rapidly changing priorities, while consistently delivering on-time, high quality results
Demonstrated ability to maintain confidentiality with sensitive information
Ability to take initiative, use strong analytical and communication skills, drive accounting efficiencies, all with an attention to detail, collaborative style, and inquisitive mindset
Preferred Experience
Experience in bank reconciliations, fixed assets & prepaid accounting and analysis
Business Central Microsoft Navision & Concur tools preferred
