The Financial Analysis and Accounting (FAA) division of Human Services Public Health (HSPH) department is seeking to hire an Accounts Receivable Specialist to work within the Public Health Finance unit. This position performs a variety of routine and non-routine accounting functions with significant focus on accounts receivable.
Location and hours:
This position is remote. Remote workers may be required to come on-site 0 to 12 days a year for work meetings, trainings, or for any other reasons that their supervisor may deem necessary (may include additional days for onboarding and new employee training). Supervisors will provide as much advance notice as practicable. Work hours are Monday through Friday, 8 a.m. - 4:30 p.m. Based on business needs of this position, hires must live in or relocate to Minnesota.
In this position, you will:
Manage remote deposit revenues by verifying, reconciling, and entering transactions.
Prepare, create, and send out invoices for multiple HSPH department services.
Prepare accounts receivable statements and follow up on past due accounts.
Reconcile the accounts receivable accounts to ensure that all payments are accounted for and properly posted.
Respond to inquiries from county staff and external customers about invoices and other related accounts receivable activities.
Assist the Estate Recovery unit with screening the Department of Human Services (DHS) estate claim minimum report.
Prepare financial reports for the accounts receivable recoveries.
Participate in the implementation of process improvement initiatives.
Need to have:
One of the following:
Two years or more of full-time office clerical experience.
Completion of two years or more of post-high school education.
18 months or more of office clerical experience and completion of the Office Specialist Pathway Training program.
One year or more of office clerical experience and completion of the Human Services Pathway Training Program.

Experience:
In an accounts receivable role working with data sets.
Monitoring multiple systems, tasks, and operations.
Utilizing Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint, Teams, and Word).
Performing audit and reconciliation processes.
Knowledge of processes involved in creating and working with accounts receivable within a government environment.
Strong interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to demonstrate critical thinking.
Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships and using a collaborative approach to problem solving.
