Description
The Strategy and Support Division (SSD) of the Land Information and Tax Services department is seeking an Innovation and Engagement Advisor to join our creative and dynamic team. In this role, you will work collaboratively to support department goals and objectives through a range of activities including project management, group facilitation, strategic planning, and process improvement. This position also includes a focus on engaging staff and leaders in identifying opportunities for employee engagement, development, and training, specifically within a hybrid work environment.

Location and hours:
This position is hybrid and will be performed both on-site at the Hennepin County Government Center at 300 South 6th Street, Minneapolis, MN 55487, and remote as job duties require. Work hours will be Monday through Friday, 8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., with flexibility. While this position is designated as hybrid, based on current requirements hires must reside in or relocate to Minnesota or Wisconsin.
New employees who are hired into remote or hybrid positions between January 2, 2022, to December 31, 2024, will receive $500 toward the cost of establishing consistent internet connectivity, payable upon completion of 6 months of employment.

In this position, you will:
· Work with internal customers and translate their business needs into solutions.
· Use an equity and disparity reduction lens in all aspects of your work.
· Engage line of business staff and leaders in identifying employee engagement, development, and training opportunities unique to a hybrid work environment, where many staff work remotely and support the implementation of these ideas.
· Lead and manage assigned projects for department and division efforts by defining project scope and objectives, executing project plans, delivering results, and evaluating outcomes.
· Facilitate group conversations, workshops, and decision-making with small to large-sized work groups potentially including line staff, supervisors, managers, and/or department directors.
· Create and maintain documentation that supports project objectives.
· Coordinate and serve on workgroups and committees that support the needs of our customers.
· Develop partnerships and collaborative relationships across departments to ensure access to a high quality, integrated network of services.
Need to have:
· One of the following:
o Eight or more years of experience in general administrative work relating to the management of departmental/organizational operations or in a specialty area appropriate to the position.
o Bachelor's degree or higher in public administration, business administration, or other field appropriate to the position and four years or more of experience in general administrative work relating to the management of departmental/organizational operations or in a specialty area appropriate to the position.

o Planning and facilitating large and small group meetings and consensus conversations both virtually and in person.

· Ability to:
o Design and facilitate inclusive and engaging meetings and workshops that lead to positive outcomes for customers.
o Successfully manage multiple priorities and projects simultaneously with limited upfront knowledge to deliver high-quality, on-time solutions.
o Gather and analyze information, design, and test solutions to problems, and formulate action plans in an iterative manner.
o Identify and discuss issues of race and racism to reduce racial disparities.
o Communicate with division leadership about capacity and work in partnership with others to ensure personal capacity is not overdone.
o Apply county values and priorities within projects. Including but not limited to: people first, innovation, stewardship, equity, integrity, disparity reduction, and climate resiliency.
About the department:Land Information and Tax Services is a department within the Resident Services Line of Business of Hennepin County that covers foundational responsibilities of government: land surveying, land recording, property tax collection and distribution.
