Description
The Department of Community Corrections and Rehabilitation (DOCCR) IT Project Management Office within the Law, Safety, and Justice line of business is seeking an IT Business Analyst II. Members of this team work together to deliver technical support to customers in DOCCR and other Law, Safety, and Justice partners. This position will work closely with IT staff and other business partners to define and create technology solutions for business needs and processes. This work involves facilitating discussions around current business practices, envisioning future processes, leading projects, translating business and technical requirements, testing applications, and working with technical staff to deliver solutions.Current Hennepin County employees who refer a candidate hired into an open competitive position may be eligible for a $500 referral bonus. Location and hours:This position is hybrid and will be performed primarily remote and at various facilities in Hennepin County as job duties require. Work hours will be 8 a.m. to 5 p.m., Monday through Friday, with flexibility. While this position is designated as hybrid, based on current requirements hires reside in or relocate to Minnesota or Wisconsin.New employees who are hired into remote or hybrid positions between January 2, 2022 to December 31, 2024, will receive $500 toward the cost of establishing consistent internet connectivity, payable after the new employee successfully completes probation. In this position, you will:
· Provide business analysis services to staff for new and existing technology solutions, and especially for business-specific hardware and infrastructure needs.
· Establish working relationships with IT staff and business partners to ensure quality partnerships to deliver IT solutions.
· Effectively communicate with technical and non-technical partners on projects and process improvements.
· Support adoption of new tools and processes as they are implemented.
· Negotiate solutions to technical problems between stakeholders.
· Provide analytical support for system maintenance and support.
Need to have:
· One of the following:
o Four years or more of information technology experience.
o Two-year college/vocational technical degree in a technology field and two years or more of information technology experience.
o An approved information technology certificate or completion of five college/vocational technical technology courses and two years or more of information technology experience.
o Completion of an approved IT Hennepin County internship and two years or more of information technology experience.
o Bachelor's degree or higher in a technology field and one year or more of information technology experience.
Nice to have:
· Experience:
o As a project manager or a lead business analyst.
o Writing, translating and documenting functional and technical specifications for infrastructure improvements, applications and technology solutions.
o Working with hardware such as phones, video, and networking.
o Working with message queueing and system data integrations.
o Working on requirements gathering, quality assurance and low code development of webforms.
o Working with cloud-based solutions.
o With infrastructure components and their application within solutions, as well as troubleshooting and implementation.
o With process management.
· Knowledge of:
o Microsoft Power Platform and/or AEM Forms.
o Iterative and Agile processes.
· Advanced analytical and problem-solving skills.
· Excellent verbal and written communication skills, including interpersonal skills with experience building effective collaborative relationships with all organizational levels of business and technical staff.
· Ability to:
o Work independently and on a collaborative team.
o Communicate functional business requirements to technical developers and technical requirements to business users.
