Description
Hennepin County Library is looking to fill two Principal Office Specialist positions at their Library Budget & Finance Office. These two distinct positions play a pivotal role in the library's financial success and will specialize in supporting either accounting or contract areas. This department is seeking a self-starter who can provide clerical support and customer service.
Effective December 31, 2023, there will be a general salary adjustment of 2.5% to the minimum and maximum of the range. Location and hours:This position is hybrid and will be performed both on-site at 12601 Ridgedale Drive, Minnetonka, MN 55305 and remote as job duties require. The hours are flexible with standard hours of 8 a.m. - 4:30 p.m. Monday through Friday. While this position is designated as hybrid, based on current requirements hires must reside in or relocate to Minnesota or Wisconsin. About the position type:

In this position, you will:General:
· Interact in person, over the telephone, or electronically to request, evaluate and screen a broad range of requests for information.
· Process and verify complex information and calculations on forms, documents, and requisitions.
· Assist with filling out forms; verify information on forms and other documents for completeness and accuracy prior to processing.
· Write, prepare, and proofread specialized correspondence, lists, reports, and other standard office documents; develop forms and/or assist with revision.
Accounting:
· Applying organization skills to various tasks such as setting up meetings and preparing agendas.
· Reviewing and approving various employee expense reports including mileage, tuition, and conferences.
Contract:
· Work with internal and external customers to process programming and related Library contracts in APEX.
· Process completed contract payments and help ensure timely and accurate payment.
Need to have:
· One of the following:
o Three years or more of office clerical experience.
o 30 months or more of office clerical experience and completion of the Office Specialist Pathway Training program.
o An approved combination of post high school education and office clerical experience to equal at least three years.
Nice to have:
· Experience:
o Working with Microsoft Office applications (Excel and Word), email, keyboarding, and data entry.
o Working in a budget and finance field.
o Working with contracts.
o Processing completed payments and helping to ensure timely and accurate payment.
o Handling and prioritizing multiple tasks simultaneously while meeting deadlines.
o Communicating effectively with internal and external customers.
· Ability to:
o Interact effectively with people from diverse backgrounds and cultures.
o Respond positively to changes in workload and assignments.
o Work independently with minimal direction.
o Interact with managers, co-workers, and volunteers with tact and discretion.
