Description
Housing and Economic Development is seeking a senior planning analyst who is passionate about helping people and has strong communication skills to join our team. The position will work on a Centers for Disease Control grant program that will build relationships with community organizations, partner agencies, clinics, and families to help increase blood lead testing for children and lower the incidence of childhood lead poisoning in Hennepin County. The position will also work on education and outreach across our home repair programs.

Location and hours:
This position is hybrid and will be performed both on-site at 625 4th Avenue South, Minneapolis, MN 55487 and remote as job duties allow. Work hours are Monday through Friday, 8 a.m. – 4:30 p.m. While this position is designated as hybrid, based on current requirements hires must reside in or relocate to Minnesota or Wisconsin.

In this position, you will:
· Build relationships with community organizations who can reach targeted populations.
· Develop and implement a communication plan with input from community partners and communication staff for targeted populations.
· Provide project management including budget oversight, report writing, and tracking and evaluating grant outcomes.
· Manage contracts with the partner organizations.
· Provide outreach to families with a child with an elevated blood lead level in suburban Hennepin County.
· Coordinate grant activities with MN Department of Health staff including working with MDH epidemiologists on data analysis, identifying target populations, and ensuring consistent messaging.
· Improve coordination between Minneapolis Health, HC Health, MN Health, and housing and grant activities.
Need to have:
· One of the following:
o Bachelor's degree or higher in business administration, public administration, research methods, statistics, behavioral/social science, public health, computer science/MIS, management science, or urban/city planning and two years of related experiences.
o Related education and/or experience to total six years.
Nice to have:
· Experience:
o Working on public health and communications campaign
o With data analysis
o Using Geographic Information System (GIS)
o With childhood lead exposure
· Ability to:
o Communicate effectively, both verbally and in writing and with diverse groups of external customers.
o Collect and interpret data and information from a variety of sources, clearly and concisely with attention to detail and accuracy.
o Work independently and successfully manage multiple priorities.
